Vendor of the Month- Indian Springs Farmers Association

Indian Springs Farmers Association is a cooperative of Black farmers growing traditional Southern vegetables in various counties in Mississippi. Consisting of more than 40 members, the co-op joined forces with the Federation of Southern Cooperatives, an umbrella organization now composed of 35 co-ops representing 12,000 African-American farm families.

Growers Ben Burkett and Terrence Travis specialize in a wide variety of produce, including herbs, watermelons, sweet potatoes, greens, root vegetables, shelled peas and beans, peanuts, tomatoes, hot peppers, and eggplant. Regulars at the Crescent City Farmers Market, this duo brings in fresh veggies and fruit from Petal, Mississippi where they operate on 225 acres of land.

Customer reviews

Thank you for providing food for those in need during this time. Your service has kept me connected to the Crescent City Farmers Market this year, for which I'm very grateful. It's actually been so much more convenient, I prefer the delivery now. I try to give back as much as I can, since so many others are facing unforeseen challenges this year.
I had learned of Top Box through a friend who shared 1/2 her box with me a few times. So I got my own box and now share with another friend to pay it forward . A fantastic service and great quality. Thank you!
Since the pandemic created a severe loss of income for me I've had to use SNAP benefits. I am able to use those benefits with Top Box. They also have a discount for those using EBT. That discount allows me to considerably stretch my budget out. I don't think I would be able to afford as much food without it. It's also much healthier and fresher food than I would be able to afford.
